Privacy Notice
In order to comply with GDPR (data privacy rules) please see details below:
What we collect
- Email reminders - your email address and the date you signed up.
- Push notifications - a code your browser (or the Event Days Android app) hands us so it can receive the reminder. It doesn't identify you personally.
- Following an event - which event you follow, plus your email address or the notification code from your browser or app, so we can remind you the day before and on the morning of it. We delete this once the event has passed, or straight away if you stop following.
- iPhone app launch email - if you ask us to tell you when the iPhone app is out, your email address and the date you asked. We send one email when it launches and then delete your address, or delete it straight away if you use the "remove me" link in the confirmation email.
- Parking checker - the postcode or street you type is looked up with postcodes.io (or OpenStreetMap, for street names) to place it on the map. We don't store it. If you tap "Use my location" instead, your location is checked on your own device and is never sent to us or stored (the map still loads OpenStreetMap tiles for your area, as it does for any search). "Save where I parked" keeps that spot on your device only, for up to 48 hours.
We only use this to send the reminders you asked for. No cookies, no analytics, no tracking, and we never share your details for marketing.
If you email us feedback, we use your message only to reply and to improve the site and app.
How to stop
Click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any reminder email, or tap the bell icon on the site (or in the app) and choose "Turn off all reminders". In the app you can also switch notifications off in your phone's settings. Alternatively, you can email email@eventdays.co.uk.
Who else sees it
Only our website host (which stores the site and sends the emails) and the notification service that passes push notifications to your device: your browser's, or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging in the Android app. None of them uses your data for anything else.
How long we keep it
While you're subscribed. After you unsubscribe we keep a small record (your email plus the sign-up / opt-out dates) for up to 24 months as proof of consent, then delete it. If we ever change this notice in an important way, we'll email anyone currently subscribed.
When you subscribe, your reminders start straight away and we send a welcome email confirming you're on the list. If an address is subscribed that isn't yours, the welcome email (like every email we send) contains a one-click unsubscribe link that removes it instantly.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct, or delete what we hold - email email@eventdays.co.uk and we'll reply within a month. If you think we've mishandled your data you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
